Storm Hammers Hollywood---10U Grey Hammers Levittown

The 10U Grey Hawks hammered Levittown almost as hard as Sunday’s storm hammered Hollywood field. With a final score of 23-2 at the end of the fourth inning at 8 p.m., the game was conceded. Enjoying a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, Max D. dazzled on the hill, striking out the first two batters he faced then getting the third out on a two strike 1-3 comebacker. He got the first out of the second inning on a fly ball to Eric K. at second base then walked the next hitter. Marcello fanned the final two hitters of the inning after one reached first on a throwing error. Robby P. ko-ed three batters in the third after walking the leadoff hitter. Chris C. hurled the final inning, allowed two runs on two hits, walked three, and got a 6-3 play to end the game. At the plate, the Grey Hawks exploded with 13 runs in the second inning, 5 more in the third, and 1 more in the fourth. Rinta went 2 for 4 with a 3-run home run; Ira, 3 for 4; Robby P. 3 for 4, drove in the seventh run; Jake W. was 4 for 4 with a 2-run double, a home run, and two singles; Jake L. knocked a single in the third; Jesse L. may have had no hits, but he did get hit—twice—and scored both times. He also drove in Grey’s 23rd run on a fielder’s choice. Miles went two for three. Marcello made contact in all three at bats and drove in two each time (2-run singles in the first and second, then a two run double in the third). Eric K. went 1 for 2 and drove in run #12; Max D, 2 for 3, drove in runs in the second and third on singles. Lefty John C., 1 for 1, took advantage of the 20-run lead to try to hit from the right and made contact for a two- run double. Chris C went 2 for 3.
