Informational meeting for potential Senior Division players Wednesday 1/25 8pm at the Haypath Community Center at Haypath Park

Greetings & Welcome,

I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself as the newly elected President of the Plainview Little League. Together with the Board of Directors, I wanted to thank our returning players and welcome the new players joining us for the first time. We had a great 2011 season and we intend to make the 2012 season even better! Possibly our biggest accomplishment of 2011 was the re-opening of the brand new fields at Haypath Park. We listened to the voices of the families in our organization, and lobbied for new and improved fields. The outcome was two incredible baseball fields with walkable paths around the fields, new dugouts, new bleachers, homerun fences and paved walkways, all for our children to play ball on!

The “Little League Experience” in Plainview is brought to you by a 27 member Board of Directors, as well as over 100 volunteer coaches and managers. If it were not for the countless hours put in by all these volunteers, our program would not be possible.

Last year, we had over 1000 children play in our intramural program including children as young as 4 years old. Not only do we have a boys’ baseball and girls’ softball program, we are very fortunate to have enough volunteers to be able to offer a program for those children with special needs in our Challenger Division.

As an organization, we are very conscious of the economic conditions facing our community. Therefore, we are happy to say that we are able to keep the registration fees as reasonable as possible, and provide families with early bird discounts, as well as multi-child discounts.

We are very thankful for our past sponsors. We continue to look for sponsorships so that we can enhance the programs that we bring to your children. As parents in our organization, we want to give you the first opportunity to sponsor your child’s team or another team in our organization. Click here for information on our sponsorship program.

We are happy to announce that our registration opened on November 1st, 2011. We encourage all families to take advantage of the early bird discount. Registration for returning players in grade 1 and up will be online only. All Lil Hawks, T-ball and other new players must attend one of our in person registration dates. Click here for registration details. Don’t forget to let your child’s friends know that you are registering.

Since we are a volunteer based organization, we are always looking for help. Whether you have a few hours a week or a few hours a month, your involvement is greatly appreciated. Please contact our volunteer coordinator if you would like to contribute your time. The more volunteers we have, the more programs and enhancements we can provide our players.

I look forward to seeing you around town, and most importantly in the stands cheering our children.

Regards,

Maria Pascarella

President

Winter Clinics Kick Off

Submitted by steved on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 1:58pm

A large, enthusiastic group of over 75 boys gathered for the first of our annual Winter Clincs.

Lead by long time coach Gary Feit and newcomer Greg Reo, the boys shook of some winter rust and worked on their throwing and fielding skills.

The boys got a refresher course on the fine points of the grip and arm position as well as proper fielding technique. Then, aided by a bevy of coaches from the league's board of directors, the boys broke into small groups and worked on the skills in more of a one-on-one atmosphere.

9U Hawks (Blue) 2011

Submitted by admin on Mon, 07/11/2011 - 7:56am

Hello fans...sorry for the delay...but with the season starting early and a quick hiatus after the end of school...the blog is back.

The 9U Hawks have started out 6-5...

They went 3-3 in the East Meadow Tournament...2-2 in the Bethpage Tournament...and currently they are 1-0 in the Plainview Summer Slam Tournament...which is still going on.

The boys have had some solid pitching, strong defense and timely hitting.
